Limited Number of FAFSA Applications Received from the Department of Education

Governors State University is starting to receive limited numbers of 2024-2025 FAFSA applications from the Department of Education.

Steps for Financial Aid Packaging:

Upload the complete file FAFSA applications once received from the Department of Education.
GovState's Office of Financial Aid& Scholarships is working to build financial aid packages for all of our students using the new FAFSA data format and calculation. Our Financial Aid team will release the individual aid packages as they are completed.
In the meantime, we suggest that you log into the myGSU portal and locate the Financial Aid Self-Service section. This is a great time to start familiarizing yourself with the new process as well as the benefits and features of the Self-Service module. It is also an excellent opportunity to look at Scholarship Universe and see what other gift money you may be eligible for that can help you to offset the cost of your education.

GovState is working hard to be ready once all applications are received from the Department of Education. Once your FAFSA has been received, the Office of Financial Aid & Scholarships will email you next steps. Please continue to monitor your GovState email account for communications and updates.
