Earning his M.A. in 2011, Principal Michael McGrone has become a nationally recognized educator, author, and advocate for justice-involved youth. As the first African American assistant principal at Bishop Noll Institute and a featured leader at Rich Township High School on The Rachael Ray Show, McGrone has used his platform to uplift and inspire. Today, he serves as a principal within Illinois School District 428, leading a juvenile justice facility in Chicago and working directly with youth to create pathways for change. He is also the author of The Twists & Turns of Possibility and A Rare Glimpse Into the Lives of Boys in Prison, shedding light on the experiences of young men in the justice system. In 2025, he was inducted as a Distinguished Alumni Class Member under the College of Education & Human Development category.
