Student Disability Services
Access Services for Students with Disabilities (ASSD) will offer the option to meet virtually via Collaborate Ultra beginning Monday, March 23rd. Collaborate Ultra is a web conferencing software within Blackboard courses that will also allow for documents to be shared. Students and faculty can also contact Access Services for Students with Disabilities via email at ASSD@govst.edu or phone 708-235-3968. If you have questions or concerns about accommodations and/or accessing course content and materials online, please contact your professor and ASSD. If you are Faculty and have questions concerning assisting students online, please also contact ASSD. Governors State University believes education should be accessible to everyone. If you have a temporary health issue or a permanent disability, Access Services for Students with Disabilities is here to support you and help meet your individual needs.
New Student Programs (NSP)
NSP has postponed or canceled all remaining programs for the spring semester including the Alpha Lambda Delta Induction Ceremony, Emerging Leaders Program, face-to-face orientations, Sex in the Dark and NSP Large Group Programs. As we develop alternative programming, we will communicate how to access those virtually. We are transitioning alongside our fellow new students and are still here to support you. Email is the best mode of contact as the office phone is not regularly attended at the moment (NSP@govst.edu or Orientation@govst.edu). NSP Leaders will be available for virtual peer to peer support starting March 23rd. Please reach out if you have any questions or are seeking support.
