  • Student Laptop Loaner Program

    ITS is proud to announce the expansion of the Student Laptop Loaner Program effective today, August 28, 2020 for any student who is not a freshman for the Fall 2020 term.

    Laptops are available on a first come first serve basis for Students. The process is simple to request a laptop. All requests will be reviewed and approved if criteria are met. See criteria below:
    -Enrolled in Fall 2020 Classes
    -Not a freshman for the Fall 2020 Term

  • Office of the Dean of Students

    The Office of the Dean of Students (ODOS) is open and we are here for you. The ODOS is open during regular business hours (Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.) and is working on creative solutions to offer our services remotely for students. Specific services include: the GSU4U student assistance program, reviewing Emergency and Medical Leave requests, responding to student complaints and non-academic grievances, and holding students accountable to the University’s Community Standards.   • Academic Resource Center

    Writing Center
    Writing consultants are available to review papers and address student needs. Students may submit their papers through the online service, GROWL. Please visit the Writing Center website for additional online resources or to submit a paper.

    Math & Science Tutoring
    Tutoring in Math, Science, and Business with a tutor of your choice is available online by appointment on the Academic Resource Center’s website.

    Student Disability Services
    Access Services for Students with Disabilities (ASSD) will offer the option to meet virtually via Collaborate Ultra beginning Monday, March 23rd. Collaborate Ultra is a web conferencing software within Blackboard courses that will also allow for documents to be shared. Students and faculty can also contact Access Services for Students with Disabilities via email at ASSD@govst.edu or phone 708-235-3968. If you have questions or concerns about accommodations and/or accessing course content and materials online, please contact your professor and ASSD. If you are Faculty and have questions concerning assisting students online, please also contact ASSD. Governors State University believes education should be accessible to everyone. If you have a temporary health issue or a permanent disability, Access Services for Students with Disabilities is here to support you and help meet your individual needs.

    New Student Programs (NSP)
    NSP has postponed or canceled all remaining programs for the spring semester including the Alpha Lambda Delta Induction Ceremony, Emerging Leaders Program, face-to-face orientations, Sex in the Dark and NSP Large Group Programs. As we develop alternative programming, we will communicate how to access those virtually. We are transitioning alongside our fellow new students and are still here to support you. Email is the best mode of contact as the office phone is not regularly attended at the moment (NSP@govst.edu or Orientation@govst.edu). NSP Leaders will be available for virtual peer to peer support starting March 23rd. Please reach out if you have any questions or are seeking support.

  • Career Services

    While the Office of Career Services is still available for in-office appointments, please know we can also provide career counseling over the phone and via blackboard collaborate. We are also happy to provide resume critiques via email. If you would like to have your resume reviewed, you may email your resume to career@govst.edu for feedback. If you would like to schedule an appointment, please call 708-235-3974.

  • Counseling and Wellness

    The GSU Counseling and Wellness Center is open with full services: Counseling sessions are still available. If you are sick, please do not come to the office. Telephone counseling check-ins (15-30 minutes) are strongly encouraged if you are sick or concerned about having face-to-face sessions. Please contact us at 708-235-7334 to schedule an appointment.

    Advocate Aurora Health will still be available to offer services to GSU students, faculty, and staff. The Advocate Health Center at GSU is NOT able to provide testing for COVID-19. If you are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19, contact your primary care physician or report to your nearest Emergency Room immediately.

  • Center for Junior Year

    Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Center for the Junior Year services and peer mentors are available online. The Center for Junior Year engage and empower students in exploring and clarifying their interests and goals, overcoming personal and academic challenges, and connecting to campus resources and opportunities. We are available in our virtual office online Mon, Thurs 9am -7pm; Tues, Wed 9am-5pm; Fri 11am-3pm. You can also reach us by email at cjy@govst.edu.​

  • CUBE and ITS Helpdesk

    The CUBE is located on the second floor, off the main entrance elevator. You may use this lab to complete assignments, check email, or browse the internet. Employees and student workers are available to assist you. For more information, please visit the CUBE's webpage.

    Governors State University provides first level support for username and password issues (even for Blackboard), the myGSU portal, and the GSU Office 365 email. For more information, please visit the Helpdesk's webpage.

  • Library

    Access Library Catalogs, Journals, Databases, and a scholarly repository and receive research assistance from a librarian. For more information, please visit the Library's webpage.
