The Center for Student Engagement and Intercultural Programs (formerly Student Life) is where involvement and learning meets. The center affords students the opportunity to be included in activities and the chance to participate using one's abilities in day to day activities as a member of the community. The center promotes a sense of belonging and connectedness through campus programming, leadership development, intercultural education and service learning as partners with all campus community members. Collectively this unit provides students with holistic programs and activities to enhance the collegiate experience of all students.
Beyond great professors and challenging classes, there are all kinds of activities to get involved in at Governors State University. You’ll find sports teams plus more than 79 clubs and organizations to meet your every interest - and then some. Better yet, why not try out something brand new?
You can also start flexing your community leadership muscles at GSU. Our Student Senate is your voice in decisions that affect our campus. The Student Activity Council (SAC) not only creates student events, but celebrates our diversity. The Community Service Council can help you get involved in service activities such as the GSU4U and other community service projects.
Student Engagement & Intercultural Programs supports clubs and organizations taking a leadership role in developing successful campus programming and outreach. Jaguar Connection is the resource for all student centered campus activities. Student Engagement & Intercultural Programs joins curricular and co-curricular activities to create meaningful experiential learning opportunities for the GSU student population.
