Wear your best animal prints because you are a Jaguar!

  • Cornhole Tournament (Hall of Governors Patio, 12 - 2 p.m.)

    • No matter what you call it- “Cornhole” or “Bagz”- don’t miss out on this college staple! Find a friend and create a team for an afternoon of fun! This will be a “16 Team - Single Elimination - Tournament Style” event for a chance to win some university swag! Everyone who plays will walk away with a prize!

    • To sign up your team, please email CASInfo@govst.edu to reserve your spot. Spots will be limited to the first 16 teams that register.          Rain location: Hall of Governors

  • Club Wars (Hall of Governors, 1 – 3 p.m.)
    • Come out and show the campus what your student club/organization is made of by participating in daily competitive challenges to win bragging rights, club allocations, a GSU trophy, and pizza party!   •  Jaguar Treasure Expedition (Hall of Governors, 3 - 4 p.m.)
    • Prowl the safari and collect Jax’s friends to win a prized treasure! 

     
  • Chicago Southland International Film Festival Short Film Competition (Online, All week)
    • Attendees can purchase passes here or visit our Virtual Festival to unlock and watch individual programs here. The virtual festival will include five short film programs that include international films selected for the CSIFF Short Film Competition. Don’t forget to rate the films after you watch to help us crown the Audience Choice Award Winner!

  • Junior Jaguars Parade (Hall of Governors, 10 - 11 a.m.)
    • Come check out the PARADE of Junior Jaguars from the Family Development Center as they celebrate Homecoming!

  • Headshots for Jaguars (E-1522, 3 - 8 p.m.)

  • COB Student and Alumni Fall 2022 Reception (Hall of Honors, 6:30 - 8 p.m.)
    • The College of Business invites students, faculty, alumni, and staff to celebrate past accomplishments and future opportunities.  Please RSVP here.

     
  • College of Education - Love as a Protective Factor (Engbretson Hall, 6 p.m.)
    • The harsh realities of everyday life can take a toll on one’s emotional and physical wellbeing. Research has shown that a loving, secure relationship can protect people and become a safe haven from the stresses of everyday life.  This is important for everyone, but especially for those from marginalized groups. Special guest, Dr. Lori Russell-Chapin will discuss the impact of love on the brain. Dr. Russell-Chapin is the Co-director of the Center for Collaborative Brain Research at Bradley University and is board certified in neurofeedback.  

        If you are a COE alumni, current student, faculty or staff member, please consider attending this special homecoming event. RSVP are required.

Dress in ‘Roaring 20s’ attire & celebrate all that's jazzy at GSU!

  • Get to Know the College of Health and Human Services (Hall of Governors, 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.)
    • Come visit the various student clubs from CHHS! Student clubs will have various fun activities to participate in.

    • Turn up the volume and bring out the pizza! The Alumni are taking over the GSU Library!  Help us celebrate Homecoming with our first ever Alumni Library Jam. Come back to the spot where you spent countless hours typing, researching, and studying. But this time it’s all food and fun!   • Homecoming Bonfire & Kickback (Behind Hall of Governors patio, 6:30 p.m.)

    • Get pumped for tomorrow's big game at the Homecoming Bonfire and Kickback! Enjoy food, performances, live DJ and more. Get ready to cheer the Women's Volleyball on to another win! Go Jaguars!

Thursday, 10/20

Show your Jaguar Pride by wearing GSU colors or Jaguar gear!

  • Homecoming Pep Rally (Hall of Governors, 1 - 3 p.m.)
    • Come ROAR with the band, meet GSU Athletes and enjoy live performances. T-shirt giveaway for first 100 students! 

     
  • Homecoming Game: GSU Volleyball vs. Olivet Nazarene(GSU Gymnasium, 7 p.m.)
    • All are welcome to come out, support and cheer on the GSU Women’s Volleyball Team! Free admission with your myOneCard for GSU Students, Faculty and Staff.  

      Guest: $6.00 for adults, $3.00 for children (under 12)  Giveaways will be provided!!!

     

Friday, 10/21

Spirit Day Theme – Sneakerhead Day
Wear your favorite sneakers and/or sport your favorite team jersey!

  • Conglomeration Gallery Opening (E-lounge & Art Gallery, 5:30 – 7:30 p.m.)
    • Sure to be the centerpiece of Homecoming Week, “CONGLOMERTION” is an art exhibition for GSU alumni artists to show off their artwork and reconnect with their alma mater! This event is open to all art lovers and offers food, beverages, music, and prizes. Walk-ins are welcome; but registration is required to be entered in the drawing for prizes (and you must be present at the event to win). Register here for the event today!

     

  • The Jaguar Prowl: Homecoming Sneaker Ball (University Park Golf Course Clubhouse, 8 p.m. - 12 a.m.)
    • It’s Homecoming! Grab your favorite sneakers, J’s or gym shoes and Dress to Impress. Live performances and refreshments served.  
      • Doors close at 11 pm
      • GSU students Free with valid GSU ID, 18+ guests of GSU students $20 CASH AT DOOR 
       
     


Saturday, 10/22

  • GSU Women’s Basketball Scrimmage vs. Oakton CC (GSU Gym, 1 p.m.)
    • All are welcome to come out, support and cheer on the GSU Women’s Basketball Team

Sunday, 10/23

  • GSU's 3rd Annual Jaguar 5k, Run, Walk, Roll! (Main Entrance, 9 a.m.)
  • Join students, staff, alumni, community members, family, and friends as we run, walk, and roll through the university campus.

  • Celebration of Gospel: Homecoming Concert(Center for Performing Arts, 4 p.m.)
    • Join us for a spirit filled concert with a stellar lineup featuring local and national gospel artists: James Hall and Worship & Praise, Latice Crawford, The Victory Travelers, Demario Tribett, Lavargna Hubbard, Chantel Varnado and VJ McCoy and the Worship Experience

      •  Concert hosted by Marcus Brady and AM 1390's Sonya Blakey
