TEMPORARY POLICY ADJUSTMENTS IN RESPONSE TO COVID-19

encouraged to reach out to their Academic Advisor and/or the Office of the
Registrar.

Governors State University has
been monitoring the evolving outbreak of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and
has decided to take the following precautionary measures. The University’s
first and foremost concern is safety of all individuals.
The Office of the Registrar team is primarily working remotely Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 5:00pm.
Our
office representatives are still available via phone or email at this
time. We are available to assist you questions or concerns at
RegOffice@govst.edu or 708.534.4500. Please note that email is the
preferred method of contact. Our phones are currently routed to
voicemail; however, please leave a message and one of our Office of the
Registrar representatives will call back to assist you.
The Office of the Registrar is also offering on-campus hours in a limited capacity. On-campus hours are as follows:
- Monday - Thursday: 8:30am to 5:00pm
Please note that a proper face covering must be worn when visiting the Office of the Registrar.
Precautionary measures have also been put into place including clear shields, 6ft. distancing, sanitation stations, and signage.
Forms will not be directly handled by Office of the Registrar representatives. Drop boxes and trays are available for completed forms.
At this time, pick-up services (transcripts, diplomas, forms completed by Office of the Registrar staff, etc.) are currently unavailable. Items may be scanned/emailed or mailed, depending on the document type.

Enrollment and Degree Verification
Governors State University uses the National Student Clearinghouse to provide enrollment and degree verifications on behalf of the university.
Loan or insurance companies, as well as any other third party, should contact the National Student Clearinghouse directly for verification of your enrollment or degree at https://nscverifications.org/ or 703.742.4200.
Using the National Student Clearinghouse is the quickest way for lenders to verify enrollment at GSU.
