Near the end of your academic journey, our team will walk you through the entire job search process, helping you craft a dynamic resume, identify valuable internships, and cultivate sure fire interview skills that wow hiring managers.

Our 4- Year Career Compass takes you from the classroom to the boardroom with a customized step-by-step process designed to keep you on track from freshman through senior year.

Governors State University has partnered with Handshake - a modern career development platform (ultimate career network for students). Handshake will replace our current Symplicity (Jobs for Jaguars) system and be your one-stop-shop for launching your career!  Student Access begins July 1, 2021.  Employers can begin posting job and internship opportunities now!

With Handshake, your job search will be powered by the Career Service’s advanced online tools available on your mobile device, such as:

  • Relevant feed of job and internship opportunities
  • News feed containing the latest information from Career Services and your favorite employers you follow
  •  Students can search for jobs and internships
  •  Employers can post jobs and review student profiles;
