Transparency in Teaching and Learning
A commitment to transparency in teaching and learning cultivates a more engaged, informed, and empowered academic community, where all stakeholders are better equipped to contribute to and benefit from the pursuit of knowledge.
Cultivating Transparency in Teaching and Learning
Transparency in Teaching & Learning (TiLT) prioritizes clear communication between educators and students. With TiLT, course objectives, grading criteria, and teaching methods are openly shared, fostering a trusting environment. Students actively participate, contribute ideas, and take charge of their education. This approach benefits educators as well, as they gain valuable insights from student feedback. TiLT reimagines education as a collaborative process, enhancing engagement and understanding for all involved.
By openly sharing their teaching methods (during the PLC process), experiences, and feedback, educators can collectively refine their approaches – through anecdotal or data driven approaches. This collaborative environment allows for the exchange of best practices, innovative ideas, and insights, ultimately enhancing the quality of education provided.
