Instructional Support

The Center for Teaching and Learning offers a variety of support for teaching pedagogy and instructional technology needs. This includes the integration of technology for online, hybrid and in-person teaching (i.e. HyFlex instruction), and course development assistance. Assistance may be provided in group/departmental workshops, individually, virtually, in-person, and Hyflex modalities.

One-on-one Consultation

Faculty may schedule a 30-minute session with an instructional designer for assistance with a variety of topics including, engaging students in the classroom, teaching first-generation students, inclusive teaching strategies, alternate assessment strategies, facilitation strategies, and online best practices. To schedule a one-on-on session, please complete the Faculty Training Request form.

Faculty Training Workshops

Professional development is offered to faculty year-round on a variety of topics. Workshops are primarily offered virtually for convenience, but some workshops are held in person in “The Cube” for a more hands-on experience. Please visit the CTL Faculty workshops page for updated schedule.

Quality Matters

Official QM professional development is available each term. CTL also offers QM overview sessions for those simply wanting to learn more about Quality Matters. All GSU faculty have access to “MyQM” which provides resources such as the QM Rubric, Accessibility and Usability course, and free webinars that support teaching and learning.

Faculty Development Digital Space (FACE course in Blackboard)

Throughout the academic year, GSU faculty are invited to present at one of the professional development workshops offered by CTL. Topics can range from a recent research project, instructional strategy, new technology tool, or information you may have acquired from attending a conference!

If you are interested in sharing your knowledge with the faculty community, please contact CTL so that we can add you to the Faculty Workshop schedule.

Departmental Sessions

The CTL team is available to meet with individual departments on topics that suit your needs. This can occur at all college meetings, division meetings, adjunct faculty training, and program coordinator and TA workshops. Please contact the CTL director, to schedule a customized session.
