One Click Transfer Direct Admission
Congratulations – because you have opted into Illinois’ One Click College Admit Direct Admission initiative for Transfer students and based on your GPA and that you’ve completed 30 hours of eligible coursework – you are receiving direct admission to Governors State University.
Your future starts here. One Click Direct Admission eliminates the application fee and streamlines the admissions process, allowing eligible students to receive an immediate admission decision and take the next step toward earning their degree.
All One-Click Direct Admission offers are contingent on receipt of official transcripts from all colleges/universities previously attend. Official transcripts can be submitted electronically to apotranscripts@govst.edu .
All Direct Admissions offers are admission into our undecided major. You will have the opportunity to declare for a specific program after you have earned 45 credit hours. Many majors have GPA requirements- please work with your academic advisor to determine your best fit!

If you have earned 45 or more credit hours (not including developmental courses) you are not Direct Admissions eligible, but don’t worry- we will make the application process just as easy for you! Your application should be submitted at apply.govst.edu/apply.
Yes, after you have earned 45 credit hours, you will work with your academic advisor to declare your major. Please visit www.govst.edu/acadmicprograms for a full list!
No problem! Please submit your final official transcripts at apotranscrpts@govst.edu.
You will need to sustain a GPA that meets the threshold set by the university in order to be eligible for Direct Admissions.
