Teacher Education Programs
Overview
Help high school students reach their potential with a license to teach at the secondary level in English, Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Social Science.
To address a statewide teacher shortage, a piece of new legislation in Illinois called the Public Act 101-0443, was signed into law by Governor JB Pritzker. Of more than 750 schools surveyed, 87% said they have a “minor, serious or very serious (shortage) problem.” (Capital News Illinois - March 10, 2025)
Your role as a teacher will support thousands of students in the most formative years of their lives. Additionally, obtaining a teaching license opens doors to various career advancement opportunities and benefits, such as tenure, professional development, and potential leadership roles within schools.
