GovState's campus spans 748 acres of grounds maintained year-round by our dedicated labor and grounds team. From the first snowfall of winter to the height of summer, our team works behind the scenes to keep every corner of campus clean, safe, and welcoming for students, faculty, staff, and visitors.

Day-to-day responsibilities include mowing, trimming, and weeding campus green spaces, as well as trash pickup, snow removal, room setups, and furniture moves. Our grounds and labor team also works closely alongside other trades across campus to provide support wherever it is needed.

    Building Maintenance at GovState

Keeping GovState's campus running smoothly takes a skilled, dedicated team working around the clock. GovState's building maintenance crews are responsible for the inspection, diagnosis, and repair of the specialized equipment and building systems that keep campus operational every day.

Our team includes licensed Electricians, Operating Engineers, and Maintenance Repair Workers who bring specialized expertise to every job. Whether responding to an urgent repair or performing scheduled preventative maintenance, our tradespeople work to identify the most efficient and cost-effective solution to keep building systems running at their best.

Routine preventative maintenance is a cornerstone of our approach, ensuring that critical systems are inspected and serviced regularly before small issues become larger problems.

    Recycle Right at GovState

Every small action adds up to a big difference. GovState is committed to building a cleaner, more sustainable campus — and that starts with each of us.

Please recycle the following items in the blue bins located throughout campus:

    • Paper and cardboard
    • Plastic bottles and containers
    • Glass bottles and jars
    • Aluminum and metal cans

Not sure if it's recyclable? When in doubt, throw it out. Placing non-recyclable items in recycling bins contaminates the entire load and sends it straight to the landfill.

Together, we can make GovState a greener place to learn, work, and grow.
