Earn Your Bachelor's Degree in Psychology
As a psychology student, you will have the opportunity to advance your academic and professional interests through concentrations in Forensic Psychology, Mindfulness Studies, and Pre-Clinical Psychology. You will also have opportunities to gain experience in research and fieldwork in psychology.
Students intending to pursue graduate study are encouraged to work closely with their advisors to strategically meet the requirements of graduate programs.
Concentrations
Prepare for advanced graduate studies in psychology within your area of academic and professional interest.
Students who do not choose a concentration will complete the general psychology concentration.
Learn to apply your studies in psychology to the legal arena in the Forensic Psychology concentration.
Forensic psychologists assist in cases such as child custody assessments, counseling services to victims of crime, and the screening of law enforcement applicants.
In the Mindfulness Studies concentration, you will study the practice of mindfulness: a self-regulation technique that focuses on training attention and awareness under greater voluntary control. Its practice has been shown to result in greater general mental well-being and specific benefits such as greater focus and relationship satisfaction and reduced stress and rumination (American Psychological Association).
In preparation to provide clinical services for all sociocultural groups, the Pre-Clinical Psychology concentration will equip you with a foundational knowledge of clinical psychology while diving deeper into specific points across the lifespan.
Focus on the science of exercise, performance, and coaching. This includes investigating motivation, athlete well-being, and systemic issues of athletic and coaching organizations and practices.
