Mathematics Education, Certificate

The Mathematics Education Certificate is a post-baccalaureate program designed for individuals who already hold a degree in mathematics and want to transition into teaching at the secondary level. The curriculum integrates mathematics content with professional education coursework, including instructional methods, educational psychology, and classroom technology.

The Mathematics Education Certificate prepares mathematics graduates to become licensed secondary school teachers. Students develop skills in lesson planning, student assessment, and effective mathematics instruction while completing required field experiences and student teaching. The program follows state-approved requirements for licensure and prepares graduates to meet certification standards. Graduates are equipped to enter the teaching profession or pursue further study in education or curriculum development.
