Advanced Placement (AP)
This program, administered by the College Board, is designed for college-bound high school students who wish to demonstrate their readiness for courses that first-year college students typically do not enroll in. College credit is awarded to students who earn sufficiently high grades on examinations covering basic first-year course subject matter. The university encourages high school students to enroll in these courses and to take available examinations in one or more subjects.
It is the student's responsibility to have official grade reports sent from College Board to the Office of Admissions before credit can be awarded.
See the University Catalog for more details.
International Baccalaureate Program (IB)
Governors State University will award credit on the basis of scores from several International Baccalaureate examinations. Students who wish to have such examination scores evaluated should request an official transcript from the International Baccalaureate program or have their high school send an official score transcript to the Office of Admission, Governors State University, University Park, IL 60484, or apotranscripts@govst.edu.
