Refund Policies
Refund Policy:
- A 100% refund will be issued if an advanced notice is given by the student 5 or more business days before the start of the training. No refunds will be issued for no-shows
- Students that cancel their enrollment less than 5 business days before the start of the training can receive a credit toward another training and must pay any remaining balance for the new training.
- A credit toward another training will be issued if a written request is received via email within 3 business days.
- A 100% refund will be issued for training(s) that are cancelled by the University. Refunds will be issued by the same method used for the initial payment.
- All refund requests must be sent to continuinged@govst.edu. Please type Refund Request on the subject line.
Refund and Participation Policy for WIOA - Funded Training:
Participation Requirements: You are expected to establish a regular study schedule, participate actively, and make consistent progress throughout your training program.
Governors State University (GovState) monitors student participation and course activity. If you decide not to continue your training, you must notify GovState’s School of Extended Learning in writing at continuinged@govst.edu as soon as possible.
IMPORTANT: You must log in and actively participate in your training each week for at least the first four weeks of the program to meet WIOA funding requirements. Failure to maintain consistent participation during this period may jeopardize your WIOA funding.
If you do not begin participating in your training within five (5) calendar days of the course start date and do not contact GovState, we reserve the right to cancel your enrollment.
If you begin training but stop participating during the first four weeks without notifying GovState, your WIOA funding may be denied. If WIOA funding is denied because of your failure to meet the required participation requirements, you may be held financially responsible for training costs incurred by GovState, subject to applicable GovState policies and WIOA requirements.
