Biography

Siobhan Dalrymple has been a faculty member at GovState since 2019. Prior to moving to Illinois, she taught at elementary and middle schools in Prince George's County, Maryland, where she earned National Board Certification. 

In addition to her teaching responsibilities, she mentored future teachers, wrote curricula for the county, and served as an instructional lead teacher. She has also taught at universities in Germany, Ohio, and Japan. 

An avid language student, Siobhan speaks fluent German, is literate in French and Spanish, and is studying to improve her Japanese literacy. Her research interests include social and emotional learning, incorporating children's literature into content area instruction, and expanding students' access to Own Voices texts.
