Attend workshops from members of the CTL staff on pedagogy and how to's about specific online learning software. Also provided are workshops from our vendors, such as Blackboard, Respondus, and VoiceThread.

    Faculty: Course Design Essentials Cohort

    In an effort to help promote course design best practices, CTL offers the Course Design Essentials workshop. Using the QM Rubric as a guide, this multi-week workshop will run as a cohort model. Faculty can sign up for one of the scheduled sessions each semester. Scheduled sessions will be 3-weeks long and run asynchronously. Participation will result in a Certificate of Completion for 10 clock hours of professional development.

    Deliverables include:

    • The ability to use basic Blackboard tools
    • An orientation area for your course, including a welcome video
    • At least one checking for understanding activity to be used in one of your modules
    • A grading policy and at least 1 project rubric that can be used for grading
    • A curriculum map for alignment of learning objectives to activities and assessments
    • A great head start for designing and improving your courses!

    Faculty: Building a Culture of Accessibility and Inclusion Cohort

    In an effort to help promote accessibility best practices in all course modalities, CTL offers the Building a Culture of Accessibility and Inclusion workshop. Using Universal Design for Learning (UDL) guidelines and QM Standard 8 for Accessibility as a guide, this multi-week workshop will run as a cohort model. Faculty can sign up for one of the scheduled sessions each semester. Scheduled sessions will be 2-weeks long and run asynchronously. Participation will result in a Certificate of Completion for 10 clock hours of professional development.
