Dr. W. Prince and Elsie McLemore Elementary and Physical Education Majors Scholarship

 

Dr. Prince McLemore is a retired professor of the university. He served as chairperson of the Division of Education. He taught social studies and social foundations of education. Dr. Prince McLemore and wife Elsie established this scholarship through the Alumni Association to support minority students majoring in Elementary or Physical Education.

Eligibility:

  • One student must be a minority Elementary Education major who has completed at least 9 semester hours with a GPA of 3.0
  • The other student must be a minority Physical Education major who has completed at least 9 semester hours with a GPA of 3.0
  • Must be in good academic standing and enrolled in at least 6 credit hours
  • Recipients will be required to volunteer at least two nights during two Alumni Events.

Award Information:

Two awards of 250 to 500 dollars.

Note: Award amounts may vary based on funding, availability, and addition, if any, to principal. Amount awarded shall not exceed tuition costs.
