Students at GSU come to depend on their advisors for many things. Finding the right classes – and avoiding those that don’t contribute to your degree program – is at the top of the list.

GSU STAR ButtonBut that’s just the beginning of what your GSU advisor can do for you. Need help with a class? Your advisor will point you toward a tutoring program. Have a family emergency that keeps you away from campus? Your advisor will help you find the resources you need and make good decisions to keep your academic career on track. Want to work with other students who share your needs? Your advisor will give you information about group study plan sessions or other resource options. In short, your advisor is your partner in success at GSU.

Important Update

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Undergraduate Academic Advising Center (UAAC) is complying with the shelter in place order and the advisors are working remotely until further notice.   Please watch the website for additional information.  All appointments will be via telephone or other virtual methods until further notice and if by telephone, we will call the number listed in the portal, unless another number is given.  There are multiple ways to schedule an appointment, you can e-mail or call your advisor directly; can e-mail; or if you are a continuing student, you can use GSU Star.   Advisors will be maintaining their normal schedule with at least one night a week with evening appointments.

Responses to emails and returned phone calls may be slightly delayed due to the demand during the registration period.

Please check the GSU Coronavirus website for updates and additional information.

Any questions pertaining to classwork, assignment due dates, extensions,  incompletes or letter grades will need to be directed to your individual instructors.  If you have general questions about remote learning, please click here. There has been a temporary change in the policies related to withdrawals and P/NC, please see your advisor for more information or review the FAQ.

Thank you for your flexibility and understanding during these unusual circumstances.

Please feel to reach out to us at if you have questions.
