This year we will be working with local organizations here in the South Chicagoland, and students will get to choose which volunteer organizations/ activities aligns best with their humanitarian interests. The event will take place from March 15-17, 2022.
There's more!! The student with the most points gathered from the activities will be crowned the 2022 GSU Community Service Champion, and will win a prize of $300! There are also runner up prices with $200 and $100 up for grabs!
Here's how it works:
GSU has already identified and partnered with several organizations in the local area and students are free to select, mix and match activities to rack up the most points. Each activity has been assigned a predetermined number of points, and students will perform service activities and collect signatures of completion from the host volunteer organizations.
Our recruited partner organizations include:
- THE CANCER SUPPORT CENTER- HOMEWOOD
- HABITAT FOR HUMANITY- JOLIET
- CENTER OF HOPE FOOD PANTRY- KANKAKEE
- CRETE LIONS CLUB- CRETE
- RESPOND NOW- CHICAGO HEIGHTS
