We know that transitioning during your first semester of college can be a challenge.  There are many unforeseen obstacles that may have offset you from reaching your personal and academic goals.  Don't be discouraged!  Now that you have experienced a semester or two of college life, brush off the dust from last semester and focus on a new start!  To get you back on track, GSU designed a Pathways to Academic Recovery Program to help you attain your goals. This Program gives students the additional support needed to be successful.  

 Pathways to Academic Recovery Course will begin the first week of classes in the Fall & Spring Semesters! 

This course will be listed as SSC-0099 on the student's schedule. This course allows students to build on their academic skills and develop positive behaviors to be successful in college.

Pathways to Academic Recovery I

We recognize that the first year, first semester at GSU can be a little tricky to navigate. Pathways to Academic Recovery I is provided to address any challenges impacting your academic and personal success, build self-awareness and decision-making capacity. Here topics including but not limited to “Adulting 101”, clarifying your why, and understanding your learning style. Along with wellness, time management and study habits are discussed. Peer support is provided throughout the length of this course as well. 

Pathways to Academic Recovery II *NEW Fall 2023*

Success strategies are revisited but increased focus is now placed on application. Students will continue to receive peer support and assistance in identifying connections between their interests and goals through in class activities.
