This online certificate course is designed to fully prepare students to sit for and pass the CompTIA A+ (Core 1 and Core 2) Certification exams. Upon completing this course, students will be able to support IT infrastructure through installing and configuring systems to secure applications, networks, and devices, perform threat analysis and respond with appropriate mitigation techniques. This allows end users to connect to the data they need in order to do their jobs regardless of the devices being used. This certificate course prepares you for work as a Computer Support Specialist, System Support Specialist, Help Desk Technician, Desktop Support Analyst, Field Service Technician, and End User Computing Tech. Network technicians may move into managerial or supervisory roles, such as leading the IT department or become a Senior Network or Server Administrator. It is recommended that students have CompTIA A+ competencies prior to taking this course. This course counts as credit for the CPSC-4342 Introduction to Computer Networks course that is part of GSU's Bachelor of Science in Information Technology degree.
