27 years ago, a group of philanthropists in neighboring Southland communities donated their time, talent and resources to build the Center for Performing Arts. Today the Center welcomes up to 60,000 patrons annually, making diverse Chicago-based, touring and community theatre, music, dance and education programs accessible to all Southland residents.
Our programs are the perfect way to make connections through the arts. We welcome the community to the stage, attract customers to businesses and find creative solutions to educate students in innovative ways that augment classroom learning.

The Center for Performing Arts at Governors State University creates a first-rate theater playbill/program. We offer advertising opportunities to local businesses as a way of engaging the public, enhancing the experience of our patrons and supporting local community partners. Our venue capacity is 1165 patrons. Each show is supported by an integrated marketing plan including paid media, social media, publicity and web promotion to maximize event attendance.

Be Our Ambassador
Being our ambassador helps the Center connect with organizations, groups, and individuals. Creating new partnerships and increased participation broadens the Center’s reach; enriching, inspiring, and cultivating compassion throughout our community and beyond.
The Center connects weekly with an average of 6,000 individuals through social media, email communications, and website visits. If even 10% of our audience members share our events, news, or emails, our reach could be endless.
