Volunteer at Thorn Creek Nature Preserve
1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. // 247 Monee Rd, Park Forest IL
Assist Thorn Creek Woods & Nature Preserve with their
fall “Prairie Sampler and Trail Workday”. We will be repairing trails and nurturing the prairie sampler and
butterfly gardens. Each volunteer must provide their own
transportation, but parking is free on site!

JET (Japan Exchange & Teaching) Program Info Session

Join us for a special info session on the JET Program and MEXT Scholarship. This
is your chance to learn about a unique opportunity to live and work in Japan as
a cultural ambassador. Whether you're interested in teaching English as an
Assistant Language Teacher (ALT) or working in a government office as a
Coordinator for International Relations (CIR), the JET Program is your path to
an unforgettable experience. In the

Paint the Rock with First-Gen Collective

Join us as we will be painting the rock by the lake in the
outside patio to kick off first-gen week (Nov 4-8)! The First-Gen Collective aims to help empower
first-generation college students find support from peers, aid in resources for
success in academics, and create a space where first-generation students can
come together.

Transferring into the GovState Honors College
3:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. // B2200 or Virtual
Learn about the criteria to graduate with University Honors at GovState as a transfer student. Participants will also hear about opportunities for undergraduate research and presenting at regional and national conferences. No Registration Necessary.

Transfer Thursday - Instant Admissions Day
9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. // Office of Admissions
Speak with an Admission Counselor, discuss next steps, and learn about campus resources in a one-stop-shop setting. Be sure to bring sealed official transcript(s), so that you can complete an admission application and get your admission decision all in one day!
Finding You: Imposter Syndrome

Dual Degree Program Welcome Cording Ceremony

DDP students who transferred to GovState in the Spring, Summer, or Fall of 2025 will be honored at a semi-formal cording ceremony to acknowledge the completion of their associate degree and successful transfer.
