BIOGRAPHY
Dr. Sonia Dalmia has served as Dean of the College of Business at Governors State University since September 2023. She brings extensive expertise in economics, assessment, accreditation, strategic planning, and academic program development, supported by a distinguished career in higher education leadership. Prior to joining GovState, she held key roles at Grand Valley State University, including Associate Dean of Graduate Programs and Chair of the Department of Economics. Dr. Dalmia earned her Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Iowa and has published widely on labor economics, marital matching, and economic disparities. As Dean, she is committed to advancing student success, fostering industry partnerships, and driving innovation in business education.
