FACULTY PROFILE

Before becoming the Director of the Supply Chain Innovation Center and Business Incubator, Reggie Greenwood was the Executive Director of the Chicago Southland Economic Development Corporation(CSEDC). At CSEDC, he developed an economic development strategy that has positioned the region to support existing and attract new logistics and manufacturing companies. The region has unparalleled rail and highway assets that he has leveraged to create working relationships with significant development companies to overcome systematic neglect of the region. To complement these logistics assets, Reggie has worked with multiple partners to develop an Integrated Education, Workforce and Economic Development Strategy. The region is experiencing multi-billion dollars of new investments related to rail and highway assets and he is a leader in revitalizing awareness of the value of a logistics focused South Suburban Airport. CSEDC offer services in industrial land redevelopment, planning for logistics infrastructure, education and workforce, organizing financial incentives, marketing, and export/import support.

He brings to this work significant experience in public economic development and private sector management of manufacturing companies. He is an entrepreneur starting public and private organizations that pursue Strategic Doing over Strategic Planning moving an idea to a minimal viable product as soon as practically possible. Prior to this public economic development position, Mr. Greenwood was a partner in a small manufacturing company and led the development of business processes that enabled the company to grow 100% and be successfully acquired by a larger firm. He studied at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill from which he holds a M.S. Degree in City and Regional Planning-Concentration in Economic Development and a B.S. Degree in Business Administration.
