I am a Lecturer for the College of Education and Human Development in the divisions of Education and Counseling. I received my M.S .in Human Development and Family Studies from Purdue University in 2005 and my B.S .in Special Education from Ball State in 1987.

I have a 36 year career, in both private and public settings, teaching special education, providing developmental therapy and support for students with social /emotional issues. I have had the privilege of teaching all ages, early intervention to adult.

After obtaining licensure, I have provided therapy services for individuals (children and adults), couples and families for 18 years. I am still currently providing therapy services and supervision for counseling students at Samaritan Counseling Center in Munster, Indiana.

My adjunct faculty experience began in 2005 at both Ivy Tech Community College and Purdue University Northwest. I served as a member of portfolio review and graduation committees as well as National Association for the Education of Young Children accreditation committee.

My areas of interest include advocacy for underserved populations, differently-abled populations, family therapy and educator trainings. I am passionate about providing support for parents and teachers in the area of building healthy relationships. I have presented on the topic of relational teaching at various public and private schools at all grade levels.
