FACULTY PROFILE
Dr. Tulowiecka (Dr. T) brings academic rigor and authenticity to her teaching, grounded in the belief that students thrive when challenged and supported. She holds a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision and a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology. Her teaching focuses on practicum, internship, foundational counseling skills, and multicultural counseling—courses designed to help students grow into competent, reflective practitioners.
Students describe her as tough, direct, and deeply supportive. She creates a classroom environment where students feel seen, respected, and motivated to push beyond their limits. Her clinical background includes work with individuals experiencing trauma, substance use, and complex mental health challenges, which she integrates into practical, real-world instruction.
In addition to her clinical expertise, Dr. T has experience with legal issues that impact students’ success in higher education, and she often supports students navigate the barriers of institutional systems. Her research explores the experiences of both native-born and immigrant students as they progress through college, focusing on emotional well-being, persistence, and the role of nutrition in academic performance. She is especially committed to multicultural counseling and advancing equity in counselor training.
