Introduce students to the history, language, and energy of jazz with J is for Jazz, an interactive musical theater experience celebrating the life and legacy of Oscar Brown Jr.

Blending storytelling with live jazz performance, this engaging production explores foundational elements of jazz—including rhythm, improvisation, and call-and-response—while highlighting the cultural and historical significance of the art form. Through a narrative centered on sibling connection and musical discovery, students gain insight into both the structure and spirit of jazz.

Developed in collaboration with Brownhouse Edutainment, the production includes interactive components and curriculum-aligned learning opportunities designed to deepen student engagement.
