Anne Frank: Through the Eyes of a Friend
Tuesday, April 18, 2023
Grades: 5 - Adults
This moving program is a poignant portrait of friendship and survival, brought to life through the eyes of Anne Frank’s best friend. Witness the pain, loss, and hope of young people during the Holocaust. This performance encourages the audience to discover their personal awareness of stereotypes, prejudice, and discrimination.
And, as an extra special treat, Jewish Community Centers of Chicago (JCC Chicago) are bringing the Violins of Hope to the Center to accompany this performance. The demonstration will include a musician playing a piece of music on a restored violin that was played by Jewish musicians before and during the Holocaust, and then a docent telling the story of that violin.
