Social Work Practice Grounded in a Social Justice Ethos

Post-MSW Certificate in School Social Work-(PEL)
The primary goal of our program is to prepare effective school social work practitioners grounded in a social justice ethos. The program has been approved by the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) and prepares candidates for Professional Educator License eligibility in school social work. School social work classes are fully accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE). Candidates must pass the ILTS content test to become entitled for school social work licensure and short-term approval licensure.

Delivery Format: Classes are held in-person on campus and primarily offered in the afternoon/evening. Field Education is completed in fall and spring semesters off-campus in a school setting. Placements are arranged with the Director of Field Education at pre-approved sites. Scheduled times vary by selected site. Students can complete their PEL in as little as one academic year.
