Lisa and Ming Chang Math Scholarship

The purpose of the Drs. Lisa and Ming Chang endowment fund is to provide financial assistance to students who are committed to teaching mathematics in elementary or secondary school, especially in school districts that serve underrepresented students.


Fund Description:

  • Junior or senior GSU students who are specializing in Mathematics education
  • Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) graduate students with an area of concentration in Mathematics Education; OR 
  • Returning teacher seeking an Elementary or Middle School Endorsement in Mathematics; OR  
  • GSU degree seeking student in Special Education Program to be employed as a mathematics education interventionist; AND 
  • Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0; AND 
  • Must be enrolled in (or enrolling in) a minimum of 6 credit hours 

Documents Required:

  1. Complete an Essay (500 words):  Discuss your reasons and passion for your chosen career 

Award Information:

2 awards of 1,000 dollars.

Note: Award amounts may vary based on funding, availability, and addition, if any, to principal. Amount awarded shall not exceed tuition costs.
