Welcome to Governors State University, home of the Jaguars!

New Student (ROAR) Orientation gives incoming freshmen students an opportunity to learn about GSU services, meet fellow classmates, meet with advising, and network with GSU staff. All incoming students are required to attend ROAR Orientation to help transition students their first year as a college student.

  • What is the Freshmen Orientation experience?

    During New Student Orientation, incoming freshmen students will have the opportunity to learn about the various resources and services GSU offers. Students and their families will have a chance to discover the various opportunities provided at GSU including involvement in student organizations, volunteer opportunities, support services, and many other aspects of being a GSU student.

    Let's Get Ready to R.O.A.R (Resources, Orientation, Advising and Registration All new freshman to GSU are required to attend our R.O.A.R. Freshman Orientation program. R.O.A.R. will focus on gibing you all the important information you need to become a GSU Jaguar including a focus on resources, orientation, advising and registration. Students and their families will have a chance to discover the various opportunities provided at GSU including involvement in student organizations, volunteer opportunities, support services, and many other aspects of being a GSU student.
