Welcome
GSU has formed a Campus Threat Assessment Team (CTAT). CTAT is concerned about the safety, health, and well-being of our students, faculty, and staff.
Policies concerning behaviors that are threatening, potentially harmful to self or others, or disruptive to the university's mission are in place to ensure the campus community is safe.
The Illinois Legislature Public Act 095-0881: The Campus Security Enhancement Act of 2008 and GSU have recognized the need to provide assistance to university community members in stressful or threatening situations. Based on evidence and research into campus tragedies, GSU has decided to take a hands-on, holistic approach to ensure that tools are in place to reduce risks related to campus violence.
CTAT strives to maintain a safe environment. We must all work together to achieve that goal. If you have questions or suggestions for members of CTAT, please email ctat@govst.edu.
Please review all the sections of this website to find helpful resources, reporting options, tips for students, faculty, and staff, CTAT protocols, and helpful phones numbers.
If this is an imminent threat, please contact the Department of Public Safety/ 911.
