The Student Emergency Fund provides limited emergency financial support to currently enrolled Governors State University students who are unable to meet essential educational expenses due to a temporary or unexpected hardship.
Distributed funds depend upon the individual situation of each student and the demonstrated need. Not all requests for funds will be approved and awards may differ from the requested amount. Emergency Funds are applied directly to a student's account and are typically awarded once. Awards do not need to be repaid.
The fund is supported entirely by private donations.
