Flexibility is key to meeting the needs of the adult or non-traditional learner. That’s where we come in.
You’re busy. We get it. Between work, family, and other
obligations our goals sometimes get lost in the mix. School of Extended Learning (SXL) at Governors State University offers flexible non-degree options for working professionals,
Veterans, active-duty military, the limited-English speaking population, moms
re-entering the workforce, the incarcerated and seniors seeking continued
enrichment opportunities. We work with business, non-profit, government, health and education
sectors to provide the latest in-demand training for the Chicago Southland region and beyond.

A Note from Our Director
While we are facing very challenging circumstances, I wanted
to share our commitment to our clients and training partners on behalf of the SXL team.
I hope that your teams are adjusting to your new normal, and that
all are healthy and safe. In this national period of collective pause, I am
struck by all the progress that is occurring in our local
communities—businesses transforming their models of operation, teams not only
functioning remotely, but innovating, and neighbors sharing resources.
The power of collaboration is never more evident than today. We are grateful for our clients, online training providers and GSU Faculty partners for their continued efforts to provide education services on timely topics, such as immunity, health and wellness, lean business improvement practices, leadership in times of crisis, and so much more. We continue to work with the Will County Workforce Board to get programs approved for funding by the Work Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) and encourage students to take advantage of this great program (learn more at www.govst.edu/wioa).
Please be inspired by the student and business success stories featured in our new magazine, Transitions. Whatever stage our students are in life, SXL and our partners are here to make powerful personal or professional transitions happen.
