A bold initiative to support underrepresented, first-generation, and low-income students overcome barriers created by COVID-19 pandemic so they can graduate!

 

GSU GEER PROJECT

provides the following services:

 

  • College and Career Guidance and Advisement

     
  • Tuition Assistance

     
  • Assistance with Prior Tuition Debt (past or old GSU bill)

     
  • Textbook and Course Material Support

     
  • Laptop and Wi-Fi Subsidies

     
  • Case Management  

     

All undergraduate and graduate students in good academic standing (minimum GPA 2.0 or 3.0, respectively) who identify with one or more of the following are eligible to apply:

•     Underrepresented or historically marginalized (i.e., student of color and/ or student with a disability).
•     Low-income (i.e., Pell-eligible or a household income within the established low income levels table).
•     First generation college student.

 

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis and applicants may be contacted for a brief interview. Up to 300 participants will be selected to receive direct support services. Individuals may be accepted pending enrollment but cannot receive services or program benefits until they are enrolled. This project will run through September 30, 2022 and is funded by the Governor’s Emergency Education Relief fund.
