Over the last 25 years, individual donors have been instrumental in establishing and supporting our Center. By joining this generous community of contributors, your tax-deductible donations help sustain and support the Center’s quality and diverse performances, community and academic productions, arts in education field trip program, summer camps, and other resources for teachers.
We are proud to serve as the community’s premier cultural destination in the heart of the Southland. As a nonprofit organization the Center relies heavily on our donors for support, and we hope you will donate as generously as you can this giving season.
Arts In Education: Adopt-a-Classroom
ARTS IN EDUCATION is one of the largest programs in the Southland. It annually serves between 16,000-20,000 children, teachers, and parents from over 200 public schools, private schools and home schools. The annual series offers 12 literacy and curriculum-based performances from grades pre-K to 12. Your Center creates and distributes study guides, tailored to the Illinois Learning Standards, incorporating arts into curriculum.
$250 per classroom
Social-Emotional Learning: Teach The Next Generation
In the aftermath of horrific mass shootings, Social Emotional Learning (SEL) has never been more important. This growing education concept captures the teaching of self-awareness, how to form positive relationships, the ability to demonstrate responsible behaviors and make good decisions. The arts teach these behaviors more effectively than just about any other discipline, and your Center’s Arts in Education series is one of the best resources around. Anne Frank: Through The Eyes of a Friend illuminates the power of friendship, empathy and compassion. Harriet Tubman and the Underground Railroad demonstrates self-awareness, strength of character and the necessity of perseverance to achieve a breakthrough. These qualities and more come alive in real, tangible ways for students from all over the southland, who visit the Center on a field trip, and leave forever changed.
