Convocation
at GSU is a time-honored tradition, officially signaling the start of the
academic year. This ceremony is a welcoming event for new students and an
opportunity to recognize recent achievements of the university. Special
attention is called to the 50th with emphasis on Governors State
University’s steadfast commitment to continuity and innovation.

Chicago Southland International Film Festival is a film festival located in
University Park, IL and hosted by Governors State University. The Festival provides an opportunity for
filmmakers of all ages to share their work. With core values of inclusiveness,
diversity, and promoting quality of life, we at GSU value an atmosphere that
fosters a capacity to enjoy life through the fine arts and humanities.

The Nathan
Manilow Sculpture Park at Governors State University hosts an annual al fresco
benefit dinner amidst the park’s unparalleled art collection. This year’s Chair
is Susan Manilow, daughter-in law of Nathan Manilow. Susan’s leadership will
take this event to new heights. This landmark event provides a farm-to-table
experience for 200+ guests to enjoy the finest in the culinary arts surrounded
by large-scale art in an outdoor museum setting.

three-day program is designed to offer engaging professional networking and learning
