If you need assistance in obtaining your bachelor’s degree in a timely fashion, the Student Enrichment Program is here to help you.

The Student Enrichment Program (SEP) provides educational support services that foster personal and professional development to motivate GSU students towards the successful completion of their bachelor’s degree.  SEP is designed to assist low-income, first generation undergraduate students, and academic probation students through the strong supportive environment, mentoring network, educational and professional development activities.  Being a part of the SEP will lay the foundation for stellar academic skills and graduation readiness. The ultimate goal is to fuel your desire for the life-long pursuit of excellence in all your important endeavors.

 Test and Note Taking Skills 
Monday September 16th: 5pm-6pm 
  Location: A2110 

Being a successful student is more than just physically being present in the classroom.  This workshop will teach students on what to do before, during, and after class in order to achieve academic success.  We will focus on strategies for active listening and participation, recognizing key concepts in lecture and textbooks, and effective note taking skills.  You will also learn how to map a study plan, memorization tips, and how to approach studying for different types of tests.

 Academic Time Management and Handling Stress 
 Monday September 23rd:5pm – 6pm 
Location: A2110 

Having trouble juggling your busy schedule? This interactive workshop is designed to teach students how to best plan, prioritize, and manage their academic tasks using a variety of time management techniques.  We will also focus on how effective time management can decrease stress levels, tips for avoiding procrastination, and “stress beaters” which can be applied to your everyday life. 

 
 
 Attitude and Motivation 
 Tuesday September 24th: 5pm-6pm 
Location: A2110 

This workshop will challenge you to reflect on your academic thus far while identifying the key internal and external stimuli which motivate you.  We will also look at ways to regain your motivation when it may be lacking.  You will leave this workshop with the personal drive to reach your academic and personal goals. 

 
 
Graduate school 4-1-1 
 Wednesday October 2nd: 3:30pm-4:30pm

What's next after undergrad?  Graduate school!  We will help you navigate the hundreds of graduate programs and find one that’s right for you.  Learn some helpful tips on filling out graduate school applications, where to look for funding, and the do's and don't about your “letter of interest.” We will also have information about preparing for the GRE/MCAT/LSAT/GMAT.
 
 
 Perfecting Your Presentation 
 Monday October 7th: 5pm-6pm 
Location: A2110 

Does presenting in front of an audience make you nervous?  This workshop will highlight strategies for you to overcome public speaking anxiety and gain confidence in your presentation delivery skills.  Tips for creating more effective presentations will also be discussed.  The skills learned in this workshop will prepare you for future speeches, interviews, and networking opportunities.
