The College of Arts and Sciences, in cooperation with the College of Education, offers students four programs that include the option of earning teacher certification in secondary education. We are proud to claim state and national accreditation.

Advising Checklist
Calculate your own Core GPA to see if you are qualified to apply for student teaching:
Open the Excel spreadsheet for your program as a "Read Only" file. Once the file is open, choose "save as" and rename the file under another name. Changes can then be saved to the renamed file.
Mapp Test
The College of Education has added an additional MAPP testing session for the Fall 2009 term. The MAPP examination is required for all students in the following programs:
* BA Early Childhood Education
* BA Elementary Education
* BA English with Teacher Education
* BA Mathematics with Teacher Education
* BS Biology with Teacher Education
* BS Chemistry with Teacher Education
Candidates who did not sit for the MAPP exam in October can click here to pre-register <http://www.govst.edu/coe/t_coe_resources.aspx?ekfrm=4652> for the added Nov 13, 2009 session. The test will be administered on that date in Room D34160 from 8:30 AM until 12:30 PM.
