Be an Art Ambassador

The Governors State University Nathan Manilow Sculpture Park Docent Orientation Program
GSU's Nathan Manilow Sculpture Park (NMSP) is growing – new programs, exhibitions, and events will be coming to the park in 2012. Become an important part of this exciting element of life at GSU by completing the Docent Orientation program and earning your NMSP cap!
As an NMSP docent, you'll introduce children and adults to GSU and our remarkable art collection through tours of the park and assistance with activities and events. You will also receive discounts on paid events, be the first to get park news, and have a lot of fun promoting the NMSP and an awareness of art in our region.
You don't need to know a lot about art – that's what our orientation program is for! In recognition of the busy-ness of our lifestyles, this year's Docent Orientation program will be held online with only two in-person meetings. Short assignments every other week will pique your imagination and expand your ideas about art and sculpture. The course concludes with a continental breakfast and morning tour of the park led by your fellow classmates and park director Geoffrey Bates.
A $25 fee covers course materials, breakfast, and your official Nathan Manilow Sculpture Park baseball cap.
