Community Memberships
The GSU Recreation/Fitness Center offers memberships to the public. An individual must be 18 years or older to purchase a membership. Community members can also add an adult household member at a discounted rate by providing proof of residency (driver's license, or addressed current utility bill).
GSU Students
All current GSU students become enrolled in the Recreation/Fitness Center when they obtain or validate their student ID card. A current Student can also add an adult household member, at a discounted rate, by providing proof of residency (driver's license, or addressed current utility bill).
GSU Alumni Association Members
All GSU Alumni Association members are eligible to receive a discounted Recreation/Fitness Center membership. A valid GSU Alumni Association Card is required. Alumni Association members can also add an adult household member at a discounted rate, by providing proof of residency (driver's license, or addressed current utility bill). Community College Students
All local community college students are entitled to a discounted Recreation and Fitness Center membership. A valid student ID card from South Suburban College, Joliet Jr. College, Kankakee Community College, Prairie State College, or Moraine Valley Community College is required. Community college student members can also add an adult household member at a discounted rate by providing proof of residency (driver's license, or addressed current utility bill).
Active Military Personnel
All active military personnal are entitled to a discounted Recreation and Fitness Center membership. A valid military ID card is required. Active military members can also add on an adult household member at a discounted rate by providing proof of residency (driver's licence, or an addressed bill).
Senior Citizens
All persons 62 years of age or older are entitled to a discounted Recreation/Fitness Center membership. A valid ID stating date of birth is required. Senior citizen members can also add an adult household member at a discounted rate. Rates vary depending on the household member's age. Proof of residency is required for an adult add-on (driver's license, or addressed current utility bill).
Family Time Program
All current members of GSU Recreation/Fitness Center can enroll their children in the Family Time program. By signing a consent form stating that you are the child's legal guardian, you may bring your children to the Recreation/Fitness Center during family time hours. There is a minimal fee per child.
Only currently enrolled students or paid community members can enroll children for which they have legal guardianship. Each must accompany the child throughout a visit. Only children that have a GSU Recreation/ Fitness Center child card accompanied by the aforementioned adult will be given access only during scheduled Family Time hours and special programs. Enrollment in the Family Time program does not grant free access to all instructional courses.
