Payment Schedule
Students are required to pay tuition and fees upon trimester registration. Failure to pay said fees will result in being dropped from classes.
Apply for Visa
Plan ahead! Apply for your visa at least three months in advance. Contact the nearest U.S. consulate or embassy for more information on visa application procedures. You can find your nearest U.S. embassies and consulates from the following website http://usembassy.state.gov/.
Health Insurance
Hospital and doctor visits are very expensive in the U.S. GSU requires that all F-1 students have adequate health insurance. Students must obtain insurance coverage as follows:
- U.S. $50,000 or equivalent for basic major medical expenses including accident and illness expenses, hospitalization and related benefits.
- U.S. $10,000 or equivalent for medical evacuation.
- U.S. $7,500 or equivalent for repatriation of remains.
Students can purchase insurance in the home country or from an insurance company in the U.S.
If you choose to purchase insurance in the U.S., you should be aware of "deductible." The deductible is the amount you pay from your own funds to the doctor or hospital. The insurance company pays the remainder of the bill.
Students must provide proof of insurance coverage to OIS prior to registering for classes.
The insurance coverage must be valid throughout the duration of studies and be valid annually.
We recommend strongly that you take care of your health insurance including updating your immunizations before you leave your country.In the U.S. certain kinds of elective medical care, such as eye glasses or dentistry, are ordinarily not covered by the insurance, and they are very expensive.
