Alumni Volunteer Program Helps Fight Hunger

The Alumni Association's first volunteer event made its move against hunger on June 23 by joining the Greater Chicago Food Depository hunger walk along the Chicago lakefront. The GSU team walked to benefit the Rich Township Food Pantry, which is located near the GSU campus.

Kudos to GSU Alumni Association Board members, Cecelia Palmer, Rose Reed Murry and LaTonia Richmond, who donned their walking shoes for this worthy cause. Also walking was Cynthia Carr, OT Professor at GSU.

Show your GSU Spirit while giving back to the community in a way that is important to you. Volunteer at an organization of your choice in the name of GSU. Wear your GSU t-shirt, send us a picture, and tell us what you did. It's that easy. Whatever service you participate in - whether it's with your peers, your family, your office, or even alone - get involved and make a difference.

Art on Campus Continues

The Art on Campus program is currently featuring "Sixteen Pieces," a collection of works by Claudia Craemer. These works are on exhibit through July 31.

"I like the way painting can be a way to learn what we're thinking - what we've been carrying around unnoticed, consciously trying to avoid, or simply what we truly believe and know. And I like the way it always teaches us more surely what we may have been mulling over for a while but were never quite able to bring to the surface and express in words. I like learning this language." - Claudia Craemer

The Art on Campus program is activating wall spaces on campus with student, alumni, and community artwork. Because these galleries are located in the public areas at GSU, the exhibits can be viewed any time the campus is open.
