Library ID Number/Off Campus Access
The GSU library offers off campus access to subscription databases via a proxy server. The proxy server will not work if cookies are disabled
in your browser.
IE users go to Tools / Internet Options / Security / click on the globe that says Internet / Custom Level / scroll down and make sure that under cookies the enabled button is checked.
AOL customers may experience difficulty with many of the databases. For best results, connect to AOL, minimize the browser and open up either Netscape or Internet Explorer.
For most databases: from off campus, click on the link for the database,you will be stopped for authentication.
- You will be asked for a user name and password
- Username = your library ID number click here for details
- Password= student PIN number (the number you use for telephone registration)
- Faculty and staff PIN - use the last four digits of your SSN
The server should ask you for your Username and Password only once per Netscape session. When you close and reopen the browser, you will be prompted for a username and password again.
