Standards

The University Library staff has completed its baseline assessment report using the new Standards for College Libraries, 2000 edition.  The new standards are more qualitative than the previous standards that relied on formulas to judge a library. Inputs, outputs and outcomes are all evaluation tools in the new standards.  Comparisons with peer institutions provide a benchmark but responses to questions in many categories of service provide even more information for the library to evaluate its work and to provide information that can be used in decision making. We plan to complete the entire process every other year and will conduct information gathering surveys and focus groups between each assessment.  Link here to see the report.
