The Grants Information Center is a service of the University Library and the Office of Sponsored Programs and Research.
The Grants Information Center of the Governors State University Library assists GSU faculty, staff, and students to identify funding sources for GSU-related research, scholarship, and programs
Activities include, but are not limited to:
Individual and group consultation and training, by appointment
Training and assistance for Grants Select, Illinois Funding Source, and
Grants Resource Center databases, upon request

Library Grants Databases and Online Reference Shelf - These databases are published on the University Library's Journals/Databases A-Z list page,
www.govst.edu/library.
GrantSelect The online version of the GRANTS Database containing over 10,000 funding opportunities provided by more than 4,000 sponsoring organizations.
The Federal Grants Management Handbook The Handbook provides an overview of the requirements facing grantees (and applicants), and the various methods for dealing with grant management-related problems. It is intended to provide an understanding of significant federal grant management issues so that grantees can focus their management attention on the features of their own unique grant relationships (A print version is available in library reference. Grant Resource Center/American Association of State Colleges and Universities (login and password required) The Grants Resource Center assists college and university research administrators in strengthening their institutions by increasing their competitiveness for federal and private grants. GRC ensures that its 150 members receive the most thorough personalized technical assistance and current information available. GRC announcements are distributed to GSU grant writers according to grant writing interests. Contact Paul Blobaum, x4139, for more information.
Donors Forum of Chicago/Illinois Funding Source The online version of the Directory of Illinois Foundations. (Access to this database is restricted to computers inside the library.)

Federal Register - Search full text of Federal Register for grant information by topic, by year, by agency, etc.
National Science Foundation - Provides funding for topical and state of the art projects.
Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance (CFDA) - This is the "bible" of government funding. Over 1,400 different programs, awards, contacts, rules and regulations.
GuideStar - Database of 40,000 American nonprofit organizations & charities. (requires registration for free basic access.)
U.S. Department of Education - Contains contact names and addresses, and info on who is being funded for what projects.
Grant Writing Links - Provides links to a broad range of grant opportunities.
