Friends of the GSU Library

The Friends of the GSU Library recently gave back to the GSU Library. For more information on the event read the article Getting By with a Little Help from the Friends which was published in the Phoenix on August 6, 2008, and written by Chris Gloff.
The Friends had a silent auction October 15th, 2008 in the Hall of Governors. We would like to take this time to say thank you to the businesses and individuals who donated items to the auction. Fundraising Events
Friends Quilt
The Friends are handcrafting a bookshelf quilt to hang prominently in our library. For more information on the Friends Quilt and how you can participate, download the Quilt Flyer (PDF format requires Adobe Reader).
Groups
GSU Writers Ink (formerly GSU Writers Group) - Children’s Authors Wannabes and Novel Writer's Knock-Outs have combined to create the GSU Writers Group now the GSU Writers Ink. If you are interested in writing, this group is for you. They get together to encourage each other and serve as a sounding board for one another.
Photos and Information on Previous Events
On Sept. 19th, 2007 the Friends of the GSU Library hosted a book sale and displayed Artist Fay Zalecki's work. For more information and to see photos taken of the event, go to the previous events page.
Wish List
The library is in need of 3 display cabinets each costing approximately $1,200. These are needed to display offerings by the Friends group and various temporary exhibits that the Friends would like to highlight. If you are interested in purchasing or contributing to these for the library, contact Lydia Morrow Ruetten at 708/534-4116 or at L-Morrow@govst.edu.
